It describes the value and authority that is transferred from a linking website to a linked website via a hyperlink. Search engines such as <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/google-and-artificial-intelligence\/\">Google<\/a> interpret links as recommendations or \u201evotes\u201c for the linked page. The higher the quality and relevance of the linking source, the more \u201elinkjuice\u201c is transferred, which has a positive effect on the <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/glossar\/ranking\/\">Ranking<\/a> of the target page.<\/p>\n<h2>The mechanics of Linkjuice<\/h2>\n<p>The transfer of linkjuice takes place both through external <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/build-backlinks\/\">Backlinks<\/a>, This includes links from other domains to your own website, as well as internal links that are set within a domain. Links with the attribute <code><a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/glossar\/nofollow-attribute\/\">rel=\"nofollow\"<\/a><\/code> signaled search engines not to follow the link and not to transfer any value. Treated since 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/google-and-artificial-intelligence\/\">Google<\/a> <code>nofollow<\/code>, and the newer attributes <code>rel=\"sponsored\"<\/code> for paid links and <code>rel=\"ugc\"<\/code> for user-generated content (e.g. comments), as references and no longer as strict instructions. Search engines can now still include these links in their evaluation, even if they do not usually pass on any direct linkjuice.<\/p>\n<h2>Practical significance for the SEO strategy<\/h2>\n<p>Strategic management of linkjuice is essential for successful <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/glossar\/search-engine-optimization-seo\/\">Search engine optimization<\/a> essential. This includes the targeted development of high-quality <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/build-backlinks\/\">Backlinks<\/a> of external, relevant and authoritative domains (off-page SEO) as well as the conscious control of the internal link flow (<a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/glossar\/onpage-optimization\/\">On-page SEO<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Through optimized internal linking, the link juice can be distributed within your own website in such a way that important pages receive more link power and their <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/glossar\/ranking\/\">Ranking opportunities<\/a> rise. Pages that are not primarily in the <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/glossar\/google-serps\/\">Search results<\/a> should rank, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/imprint\/\">Imprint<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/csw.agency\/en\/data-protection\/\">Privacy policy<\/a>, do not usually require high link power.
